As I was on the sidelines watching a track and field event, I reflected on this impression that we are all a part of the whole.
Here I was watching these athletes trying to give their best and hope for another personal record. At the finish line, winded and tired after their amazing effort, happy with their result or not, they still found the time to connect and share a moment with their fellow competitors – a high five here, a handshake there or a hug. One gesture to share the effort and joy of running competitively, together and for yourself at the same time. It spoke of human connection and spirit, if being part of a whole bigger than just oneself.
This idea that we are all a part of the whole can be applied or found in so many other areas of our life, whether public or personal. If we look closely we might see that there is always a sense of connection and sharing. In a way, we maybe are never fully alone if we look at it this way.
While tangling along with this idea, it also made me realize that the creative inspiration can come at any time, any place, maybe especially when you open yourself to being a part of the whole.

Hier, j’étais sur le bord du stade à regarder une compétition d’athlétisme. En regardant cet événement, je me suis fais la réflection que l’on fait tous partie d’un tout.
Ces athlètes, donnant le meilleur d’eux-même, qui, à la fin de leur course, trouvent, malgré la fatigue, normal d’encourager et de féliciter leur compétiteurs. Ils prennent, malgré leur essoufflement, le temps de donner une poignée de main, de partager l’effort et la course avec les autres, d’être présents ensemble lors d’un événement individuel, de marquer l’esprit d’équipe en soutenant les derniers arrivés.
Pour moi, cela montre aussi l’importance du besoin de connection et d’appartenance, et d’avoir l’impression de faire partie d’un tout finalement plus grand que juste soi.
Cette idée que l’on fait tous partie d’un tout, peut sans doute s’appliquer dans beaucoup de choses dans nos vies. Peut-être que l’on n’est finalement jamais vraiment seul, et qu’en regardant bien autour de nous on peut trouver ces connections et ces moments de partage.
En tanglant sur cette phrase de réflexion, je me suis aussi rendue compte que l’inspiration (créative) peut nous venir n’importe où et n’importe quand. Particulièrement, peut-être, quand on s’ouvre à l’idée que l’on fait partie d’un tout ?
