10 Tangles Creative Challenge 2026: An Exploration of the World to Come

Every spring, French-speaking Certified Zentangle Teachers combine two worlds: the Zentangle® method and the French Ministry of Culture’s annual initiative “Dis-moi dix mots” (Tell me ten words). The former offers a way to slow down and draw with intention. The latter invites us to explore the French language in all its nuances and surprises. From this encounter was born the 10 Tangles Creative Challenge: a 10-day creative experience that combines drawing, language, imagination, and reflection, one small stroke at a time.

The 10 Tangles Creative Challenge 2026 edition invites us into “the world to come” (un monde à venir). It’s a theme that pushes us to look ahead, to notice what might be changing around us, and to imagine a future we can shape and create together.

Whether you’re looking for a mindful drawing challenge, a creative reset, a daily art ritual, or a way to reconnect with your imagination, this 10‑day journey offers a simple, accessible way to begin.

The challenge begins on March 11, 2026. You can join the waitlist or sign up to receive the PDF: the PDF will be available the day before we start for the waitlist. Sign-up to receive the PDF 2026: https://artsamuse.kit.com/10-tangles-2026

A theme that invites us to explore and imagine the world to come

This year’s ten words move between the very small and the very vast. They touch on science, imagination, ethics, and the simple fact that the future isn’t something distant. It’s here, unfolding in the choices we make.

Here are the ten words for this edition:

  • alunir (to land on the moon)
  • anticipation (anticipation)
  • continuum (continuum)
  • dystopique (dystopian)
  • humanoïde (humanoid)
  • particule (particle)
  • programmer (to program)
  • sidéral (stellar)
  • théorie (theory)
  • transmuter (to transmute)

These words invite us to reflect on the way we imagine our place in the world, the way we respond to change, the way we stay human and create in the middle of it all.

They might also offer inspiration for drawing shapes, textures, contrasts, and stories we can create with our pen on paper.

How the creative challenge works

For ten days, you’ll receive:

  • the word of the day
  • a tangle (pattern)
  • a small suggestion to explore

You can follow one, two, or all three. There’s no pressure to keep up. No expectation to finish. This is not a productivity challenge. It’s a creative pause. No artistic experience needed.

If you’re new to the Zentangle Method, this is an easy way to begin. If you’ve been drawing for a while, the daily words offer a different kind of doorway into your practice.

All you need is a pen, a pencil, and a small piece of paper.

Why people join

Every year, people find this challenge for different reasons. Some are looking for a way to reconnect with creativity. Some want a mindful drawing practice that doesn’t require hours. Others are curious about the French language, or simply enjoy having a small daily creative practice.

The challenge tends to resonate with people searching for:

  • mindful drawing
  • creative prompts that don’t feel overwhelming
  • a way to restart a creative habit
  • Zentangle for beginners
  • a gentle 10‑day art challenge
  • French‑inspired creative activities
  • a moment of calm in a busy season

It’s a simple structure, but it opens a lot of space.

A small journey into the world ahead

The theme “A world to come” (un monde à venir) reminds us that imagining the future isn’t about predicting anything. It’s about paying attention. It’s about noticing what matters to us now, and how we want to move through the world.

Each tile or artwork created becomes a place to breathe, to explore, to let the word of the day maybe shift something for you in your creative practice.

The world to come invites us to reflect. What if we imagine it together?
